Water Park/Pool Area Rules
The Water Park is provided for Owners and guests. Operational hours will be posted. Guest fees apply. The waterslides and accompanying features, along with the dive tank will only be available for use when lifeguards are on duty. The lap pool will be open for open swim during authorized hours. During open swim times, Owners swim at their own risk, no lifeguard will be on duty. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older) at all times. This rule will be strictly enforced and infractions will subject the Owner to a suspension of community center privileges. The following rules apply to the Water Park:
1) All persons must follow all posted rules and the direction of Lifeguards and Staff.
2) All persons are required to shower prior to entering the Water Park pools.
3) Appropriate swim attire must be worn. No street clothes are permitted in pools (i.e., cut-offs, street shorts, t-shirts, etc.) Thong-type swim bottoms are considered inappropriate for either gender, as is topless swim-wear for women.
4) Running, horseplay or rowdiness is not permitted. Hanging on lane markers in the lap pool is prohibited. No running, horseplay, shoulder rides or dunking. Hanging on ladders, rails, or buoys is not permitted.
5) No diving is permitted except at diving well. Feet first entry in any area that is 5 feet or less. Diving is only permitted when lifeguards are on duty. Diving from the pools edge may result in removal from the pool area.
6) Lap lanes are designated for lap swimming only. Those wishing to walk in the pool must use areas not designated for lap swimming.
7) The use of abusive or loud language will not be tolerated. Non-sanctioned sound-producing equipment will not be permitted with the exception of Anthem Parkside at Merrill Ranch sponsored exercise classes. Personal sound equipment may only be used with headphones.
8) Any Person with an infection, communicable disease, etc., is prohibited from using swimming pools.
9) Food or non-alcoholic beverages may only be consumed in designated areas. A large patio area with tables and chairs is available for this purpose. Tobacco products may not be used in the pool area. Glass containers and chewing gum are strictly prohibited in or around the pool. No food or drink is permitted within 4 feet of the pool’s edge.
10) For safety reasons, personal items such as baby carriages, strollers, chairs, lounges, tables and other items which could obstruct or interfere with access to and from the pool or spa area will not be permitted on the pool deck. All furniture, lounge chairs, tables, etc. must be a minimum of 4 feet from the pool edge.
11) Oversized inflatable or flotation devices, including without limitation automobile inner tubes, air mattresses, surfboards and floating chairs, are not permitted in pool. Small kickboards, mask and snorkel, or water shoes are permitted in pool only.
12) For safety reasons, during rain, thunder and lightning storms or other inclement conditions, Community Center Staff will clear and close the pools until such inclement condition passes. However, Anthem Parkside at Merrill Ranch is not responsible for monitoring weather conditions, and each person in the pool area should immediately exit the pool area if these conditions occur.
13) Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older), or be enrolled in an Association sponsored program for teens. All persons incontinent or not toilet trained must wear approved swim diapers.
14) Any Owner or guest failing to abide by this policy or other safety rules as posted may be asked to leave the pool area. The judgment of Community Center Staff with respect to safety, decorum or sanitation will prevail.
15) Due to new safety standards across the country and a recommendation from the CDC we’re no longer permitting arm wings or “swimmies” at the Parkside Community Center. > view more info.
