Public Comment Sought for North End Framework Plan
Public Comment Sought for North End Framework Plan
The Town of Florence is asking Florence residents to attend and provide comments on the North End Framework Plan at an upcoming Community Forum on Wednesday, July 7th, from 5pm to 7pm in the Council Chambers at Florence Town Hall.
The creation of the North End Framework Plan is in the early stages. During the next twelve months, the Town of Florence will develop the North End Framework Plan, which is a multi-faceted project that seeks to develop a variety of planning, engineering and economic development enhancement strategies for an area along the Gila River in the core area of Florence.
The forum helps the Town of Florence and Swaback Partners, the project’s consulting team, collect and chronicle citizen desires about the Town and the study area, in particular. The public comments and other findings are merged with design and engineering studies to test planning and implementation options, as well as to reinforce the project’s mission and guiding principles. The Town’s rich history and authenticity will remain a critical backbone of this project.
The scope of the study embraces the fundamental components associated with the idea of community and we will focus on what it takes to sustain the values that we hold to be most dear. Questions to be addressed will include:
1) What do we, the citizens of Florence, regard to be our key priorities?
2) How do we describe the obstacles that have occurred in the past?
3) What directions do we believe to be important for the future?
A goal of this forum and the project in general is to understand all we can about how to prepare for the future, knowing that change is inevitable. The vision we seek to frame is one that grows out of what we are and would be pleased to become. What is it that makes Florence authentic and special and how can we give our best to the generations yet to come, just as so many others have done for us?
More information about future forums will be released in upcoming months.
